KCHR Foundation Day Lectures

In view of its 23rd Foundation Day, Kerala Council for Historical Research is organising a series of lectures at colleges across Kerala. The lectures, to be held on Mar 18 & 19, are aimed at fostering stronger ties between scholars and students in the historians’ community in Kerala. This year, the programme will include sixteen colleges throughout Kerala.

The overarching theme for this year's lectures is ‘Contemporary Trends in Regional History Writing: Kerala in Context’. The idea is to provide students with insights into the evolving landscape of historical scholarship, particularly in the realm of local and micro-histories. These lectures by leading historians and scholars will not only highlight recent developments in regional history-writing but also explore advancements in methodologies that shape our understanding of Kerala's historical narrative.
